MMP Family Ab Sampler Kit
Cat.#: 5006-1Price: $595
A sampler kit with rabbit monoclonal antibodies (RabMAbs) specific to proteins involved in the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family (MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, MMP-9, MMP-11, MMP-12, MMP-13, MMP-14, MMP-17, MMP-21). This Kit is provided with sufficient amount of antibodies for multiple immunoassays.
Description
Matrix Metalloproteases (MMPs) are a family of 25 endoproteases expressed in mammals known to degrade extracellular matrix and basement membrane components. The classification of different family members was made by domain structure as well as substrate specificity . MMPs are expressed as inactive zymogens, and are secreted from many connective tissues and pro-inflammatory cells such as fibroblasts, osteoblasts, endothelial cells, macrophages, lymphocytes and neutrophils. At normal conditions, the expression and activation of MMPs are tightly regulated. Under pathogenic conditions, increased activation inactive pro-MMPs by other intra- and intercellular proteases was observed, and these active proteases are capable of degrading components of extra-cellular matrix and many other intra- and inter-cellular proteins, contribute to the progression of pathogenic conditions. MMPs have been shown to be highly connected with a variety of diseases, including arthritis, inflammation, cancer, angiogenesis, atherosclerosis, cardiac diseases, stroke, ocular diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, and oral diseases. Many of MMPs are molecular targets for the development of many drugs. Due to their importance in health and diseases, members of MMPs are under heavy investigations in basic and clinical studies.
