Description
Src is a protein tyrosine kinase known to regulate cellular adhesion. Composed of three major domains; SH2, SH3 and a kinase catalytic domain, Src can be switched from an inactive to an active state though control of its phosphorylation state or through protein-protein interactions (1, 2, 3). Tyrosine residue 418 of human Src is autophosphorylated upon Src activation (4). The dephosphorylation of Tyrosine 418 is also directly correlated with the level of Src tyrosine kinase activity (5).

Specificity
A phospho specific peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Tyrosine 418 of human Src was used as an immunogen. This antibody only detects Src phosphorylated at Tyrosine 418.
