Detection of HER2 in Breast Cancer :
Comparison of a Rabbit Monoclonal anti-HER2 with commercially available antibodies.

HER2 has become a very important diagnostic marker and therapeutic target for Breast cancer.  There are many commercial antibodies available for use in research and diagnostics to detect HER2 in breast cancer tissues.

To evaluate the specificity and sensitivity of Epitomics rabbit monoclonal anti-HER2, we compared it with two leading commercially available anti-HER2 antibodies using three different clinically validated breast carcinoma formalin fixed paraffin-embedded tissue samples representing (A) high, (B) medium and (C) low levels of HER2 expression.  The commercial antibodies used for comparison included a rabbit polyclonal and mouse monoclonal antibody.

The results shown below demonstrate that the Epitomics RabMAb has higher sensitivity combined with lower background than the comparable rabbit polyclonal and mouse monoclonal anti-HER2 antibodies.  In conclusion, Epitomics anti-HER2 RabMAb has the potential to be a valuable tool for conclusively detecting lower levels of HER2 expression than is currently possible with other commercially available antibodies.
