EPITOMICS ANNOUNCES THE CREATION OF 500th RABBIT MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY
Burlingame, CA, USA - Epitomics, Inc., the rabbit monoclonal antibody technology company, announced today that it has now produced and launched 500 new rabbit monoclonal antibodies. Each created in house utilizing Epitomics' proprietary rabbit monoclonal antibody technology. The number of rabbit monoclonal antibodies in Epitomics' catalog continues to grow at an average pace of seven new novel antibodies per week.
Epitomics has developed a unique and proprietary method for making monoclonal antibodies using rabbits rather the conventional method of starting with mice. The advantages of Epitomics' rabbit monoclonal antibodies include high specificity and affinity, excellent results in a variety of assays including westerns, IHC, ICC, IP and flow cytometry, and the ability to generate monoclonal antibodies to targets not possible using mice.
"We are very pleased to have reached the 500 rabbit monoclonal antibody mark in a relatively short period of time" said Dr. Peter Li, Senior Vice-President of Product Development. "The products we have released are among the most extensively characterized reagent antibodies on the market and we plan to continue our pace of monoclonal antibody development into 2007 and beyond".
